New Festival Dates and New Touring Line Up for Sound of Contact

Sound of Contact is gearing up for new shows around the world supporting their debut concept album “Dimensionaut”. SOC will be playing two exciting Progressive Rock festivals. The first is “Night of the Prog” in Loreley, Germany on July 13th,2013, along with bands such as Steven Wilson and Opeth. Then, on September 1st, 2013 Sound of Contact will be headlining at the ProgDay festival in Chapel Hill, North Carolina performing the album “Dimensionaut” in its entirety plus a few surprises.

Other news includes a touring personnel change. Due to schedule conflicts and commitments to other projects, John Wesley is unable to commit to forthcoming touring plans with Sound of Contact. Joining the band’s live performance line up along with Ronen Gordon is guitarist Randy McStine who recently released his Lo-Fi Resistance album “Chalk Lines” co-produced with Dave Kerzner. The album features musicians such as Porcupine Tree’s Gavin Harrison and Colin Edwin.

Simon Collins had this to say:“On behalf of Dave, Matt and myself, it’s important to say that we consider ourselves very fortunate to have worked with such an experienced veteran musician as John Wesley Dearth. We are extremely grateful to have played with him at such milestone events as our “First Contact” show at the Marillion weekend in Montreal and the InsideOut European tour in May. Wes did a stellar job and he was a pillar in many ways for the band and entire team. His work ethic and professionalism was a pleasure to have on board and we all wish him the very best on his solo work and future projects.”

Dave Kerzner adds “We love playing with great musicians and have been fortunate to work with guys like Kelly, Wes and now Randy.” Says Dave Kerzner. “We’re looking forward to evolving as a live band and bringing our album ‘Dimensionaut’ to life.”

We’ll shortly be bringing you more news about the band’s plans. Stay tuned!
